New Trees behind the 4th Green

New Trees behind the 4th Green

‍

Golfing Members,

‍

Be advised there is a new addition to the Local Rules. This one concerns the newly planted trees between the 4th Green and the 5th Tee / 17th Tee.

When playing the 4th hole, under Rule 16.1F;

  • balls which go beyond the new tree line, or
  • are amongst the trees, or
  • your stroke is impeded by the trees, take free relief at the designated drop zone which is located on the right hand side of the trees, near the path.

Link to the actual Local Rule wording can be found here... the relevant Local Rule in question is Rule 3.8.

‍

When playing the 5th and 17th holes, under Local Rule 4.1;

If a ball comes to rest in a position which there is interference with the players stance or intended swing from the staked trees behind the 4th green,this is considered a NO PLAY ZONE and relief must be taken (without penalty) in accordance to Local Rule 4. Abnormal Course Condition – No Play Zone (Rule16.1f). That is: full relief for stance and intended swing plus 1 club-length from the reference point.
