Last Member Standing 2025

2025 LAST MEMBER STANDING FINAL

It was a glorious day to hold the Final of the 2025 Last Member Standing Competition. 19 players started up the first hole and only 2 came down the 18th. Of course only one person could win the day.

  • The 1st hole must have been a nervous start for a few players as there were 5 in the chip-off. Rob Kuipers, Paul Gibbs, Charlie Iaria, Andre Monardo & Mitch Perkins. Two missed the green which then went to a 2nd round chip-off between Rob and Andre. Rob Kuipers unfortunately bowed out.
  • Hole #2 had 3 in the chip-off from scoring wipes. Wayne Gillard, Adam Hislop-Reynolds and Noel Donohoe. Adam Hislop-Reynolds didn't survive.
  • On the 3rd, everyone scored points except for one wipe. Unlucky for Noel Donohoe.
  • The 4th hole had 3 players in a chip-off opportunity after making wipes. Hugh Renny, Wayne Gillard & Steve Malesevic. Hugh Renny's ball while close, was the furthest away from the pin.
  • Hole #5 had 5 in the chip-off on 1 point each who were Paul Birks, Les Alexander, Stephen Cromer, Wayne Smith & Brian Doyle. After the 2nd round of chip-offs between Wayne and Paul, Wayne didn't make it any further.
  • The 6th proved tough for four lower markers making the chip-off with 1 point each who were Ian Barnes, Les Alexander, Charlie Iaria & Steve Malesevic. All made the green but Les' ball rolled on further than he'd hoped.
  • The 7th hole saw 2 players scoring wipes to go to a chip-off which was between Paul Birks & Mitch Perkins. Paul lost out on that one.
  • The 8th hole saw players in yet another 5-bunch in the chip-off after each scoring a point which was between Ian Barnes, Pam Savage, Dean Lynch, Andre Monardo & Stephen Cromer. In his first attempt at LMS, Dean did well making it this far.
  • Hole #9 proved tricky for 6 players who'd made 1 point each and stuck around to chip to see who wouldn't be crossing the road. Those were Ian Barnes, Tim Sinclair, Paul Gibbs, Charlie Iaria, Andre Monardo & Mitch Perkins. Andre didn't get to cross the road.
  • Crossing the road to the 10th; without a shot here Mitch Perkins was the only one to wipe.
  • Hole #11 saw 3 players wipe forcing a chip-off. They were Tim Sinclair, Pam Savage & Paul Gibbs. Pam bowed out here.
  • On 12, we saw 3 wipes take Wayne Gillard, Stephen Cromer and Brian Doyle to a chip-off. Wayne's run came to an end here.
  • 13 was unlucky for Charlie Iaria as he was the only player to score 1 point which meant his day was done.
  • Another 1 point chip-off, this time on the 14th. Ian Barnes and Tim Sinclair were down near the creek to get onto the green. Ian was just a little too short here.
  • Crossing the road for a second time saw a chunked tee shot from Steve Malesevic in big trouble on 15 needing a miracle to survive. He stepped out of the race with 1 point scored.
  • On 16, Tim Sinclair's day came to an end with the only wipe on that hole.
  • Crossing the road for the last time were the last 3 players. It was now getting tight. Paul Gibbs scoring a point on the 17th wasn't good enough on this occasion.
  • The 18th Hole: Two players left. Stephen Cromer and Brian Doyle. Both had survived 2 chip-offs during the day to get this far and both wanted to win. Both tee shots were straight. Stephen Cromer was short of the green and Brian Doyle was under the hole towards the back of the green. Stephen's 2nd shot to come onto the green left him closer to the hole but was one shot down. Brian was in the box seat. His putt for birdie pulled up just a little short which meant Stephen needed to sink the the par putt to put the pressure on Brian or take it to a final chip-off. Stephen missed and Brian didn't.

The Last Member Standing Winner for 2025, BRIAN DOYLE. Congratulations Brian.
